Heart condition requires medical evacuation

Redpoint Resolutions medically evacuated a 23-year-old woman from Montana to Utah due to a life-threatening heart condition.

The university student was working a summer job in the Helena, Montana, area when she felt palpitations and an elevated heart rate. Doctors there recommended that she receive an ICD – an implantable cardioverter defibrillator – as soon as possible, but that clinic was not equipped to perform the procedure.

Her family contacted Redpoint Operations to request a medical evacuation. Her mother works at a university that is a Redpoint client, and family members are covered.

Redpoint flew the student in a medically staffed, air ambulance jet to the home hospital of her choice – a top tier hospital in Salt Lake City – where she is a student. Redpoint prepared for her admission to the hospital, and surgeons successfully implanted the device.
