Cardiac issues raise alarm for air-traffic control leader

The landscape in Kandahar

Last week, the employee of a client in Afghanistan developed signs of cardiac distress. As the leader of an air-traffic control team, he exhibited light-headedness, dizziness and chest pain, and presented to the local clinic, seen by U.S. military physicians.

His employer called for Redpoint’s assistance. Redpoint’s critical care paramedics and Stanford-affiliated physicians examined the man’s condition and came up with several plans for his treatment. Ultimately, the decision was made to have the employee medically evacuated to the United Arab Emirates to undergo further testing and treatment.

The employee has now been seen at a top-tier facility in Dubai.
